The endless views over the river, combined with the gentle rocking of the houseboat, and the chattering of the ducks and the geese will instantly give you a sense of peace.

Imagine waking up to gentle birdsong and watching the gentle river flow by, right at your feet. You are on the water, rather than by the water, which gives this studio apartment something uniquely special.

The best of both worlds

Sitting on the deck watching the swans float by you would almost forget that you are only 20 minutes from Amsterdam by car, and about an hour by public transport. Utrecht, Holland’s second cutest town, is only 30 minutes away by car, or a good 90 minute bicycle ride all the way along the river Vecht for the brave! The studio is located between the villages of Vreeland and Nederhorst den Berg, and is part of the rural part of the Greater Amsterdam region.

Tiny Houses comfort

The smart studio has been cleverly designed with the popular tiny houses concept in mind. Everything folds, in, out or up, and the kitchenette is neatly tucked away in a cupboard. This allows you to make optimal use of the space. You can leave your slippers at home because there is floor heating throughout.

The 140cm bed easily folds away during the day and is of the highest quality, with a luxurious bamboo mattress that will give even the most sensitive sleeper a good night’s sleep. The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave and two electric cooking rings. The fridge is big enough for a three-day food shop. For a small fee you can  ask me to shop for you in advance and fill your fridge with your favourite items before you arrive.

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist. So you can also book some counselling or creative coaching sessions during your stay. Residents of the studio enjoy a 10% discount on regular counselling fees. 

Read a book, kick back, allow your eyes to rest on the river and dream away. Or for the more actively inclined, take a walk or borrow a bike to explore the beautiful Gooi and Vechtstreek.

When the weather is fair, you might enjoy sitting on your outside terrace, or hanging in the hammock and watching the river float by. My private terrace is located on the other side of the houseboat and so we won’t get in each other’s way.
